Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist III is a seasoned and skilled professional who serves as a mentor, educator, and technical resource for the Radiation Therapy department. This role combines advanced clinical expertise with a strong focus on collaboration and education, ensuring the highest standards in the operation and application of specialty equipment and patient care.
Essential Functions
Lead by example as a technical expert and mentor to team members, sharing in-depth knowledge of advanced radiation therapy equipment and techniques.
Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments with precision, adhering strictly to plans created by Radiation Oncologists and treatment planning teams.
Collaborate across disciplines, helping to coordinate multidisciplinary care to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure the safety and performance of all radiation therapy equipment.
Support and reinforce patient education, especially regarding treatment side effects and dietary guidance.
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of treatment delivery, patient status, and billing information.
Demonstrate flexibility by adjusting work hours or locations as needed to meet patient and department needs, including participation in weekend/holiday call schedules and early morning equipment warm-ups.
Stay current with all licensure requirements and continuing education expectations, including attending required in-services and training sessions.
Contribute to the center’s community outreach and educational initiatives.
Education/Training:
Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
Licensure/Certification:
Current ARRT registration
Maintains current License in State of Florida
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
Experience:
Four (4) years as a Radiation Therapist II and
One (1) year experience as a lead in an external or special modality
