Job Summary

The Nursing Operations Manager (NOM) is responsible for leading and managing the clinical and operational performance of the Trauma Step-Down Unit, Resource Team, and Rapid Response Team.This role ensures delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while fostering a culture of safety, engagement, and accountability.

The NOM partners with nursing leadership to execute strategic goals, optimize team workflows, and implement continuous quality improvement practices across the assigned departments.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Provide operational oversight for the Trauma Step-Down Unit, Resource Team, and Rapid Response Team
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care that meets regulatory and organizational standards

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and retention of top nursing talent

  • Monitor and manage unit performance, staffing, and resource allocation

  • Develop and manage department budgets with attention to fiscal stewardship

  • Facilitate collaboration between interdisciplinary teams to drive clinical excellence

  • Serve as a change agent to implement new technologies, care models, and improvement strategies

  • Promote a positive team culture 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or graduate degree in a health-related or business field preferred

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current RN license in the State of Florida or via Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Advanced certifications may be required depending on unit population (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NALS, TNCC)

  • National nursing leadership certification (ANCC or AONL) required within 2 years

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience in an acute care setting

  • Minimum 1 year of leadership or management experience
