Position Overview
The HIM Document Imaging Specialist responsibly includes the organization and archive documents, and indexing. The management of the scanned images through proper assignment of patient identification and document types. Assist with training and education of new team member
Essential Functions
• Initiates and performs technical procedures to prepare and store medical records according to Orlando Health’s legal medical records policy and procedures.
• Document Corrections by monitoring the document correction queues.
• Validate the reported document imaging errors, corrects errors as needed, and report errors with the keep performance indicator (KPI) goals.
• Review and commit document imagine to the correct patient document type.
• Collaborate with the vendor partners on work queues for accuracy.
• Assist with the management of the department’s email resource box for timely responses to document imaging issues.
• Research document for missing documents.
• Assist with the Risk management charts.
• Research and redirect mail to designated departments sent it to us in error.
• Conduct quality review if documents in accordance with policy.
• Prepare documents for destruction in accordance with policy.
• Prepare monthly report of audits results and trends errors related to document preparation, scanning, and indexing.
• Provide training and education to document imaging team members.
• Test for system upgrade and workflow enhancement.
• Trouble shoot technical issues and escalate to the IT team, as appropriate.
• Meets productivity, timeliness, and quality standards and goals set by the department. Provides data for monitoring productivity and outcomes through maintenance of spreadsheets, database, and/or other documentation process.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Education/Training
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Computer literacy and keyboarding skills required.
• Must type a minimum of 30wpm for HIM.
• Successfully passes a Windows proficiency test, scoring 75% or higher prior to an interview.
Licensure/Certification
None.
Experience
One (1) year of experience in HIM is required.
