Position Overview
The Health Information Management Deficiency Analyst I is responsible for performing duties related for the deficiency tracking for the management and overall deficiency workflow process of health information in the Comprehensive Health Record.
Essential Functions
• Retrieve, process and ensure all discharge records from all patient care areas are accurately completed when applicable.
• Initiate and perform technical procedure to analyze, reanalyze, and monitor the medical record deficiencies according to Joint Commission and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations for regulatory requirements for emergency department records.
• Performs the initial analysis of the episode of care to ensure timeliness of the record completion process.
• Develop proficiency with tracking the deficiency throughout the Life Cycle of the episode of care.
• Develop the skills required for timely deficiency tracking for automatically or manually completion for the episode of care.
• Collaborate with the more senior HIM Analysts to obtain education and guidance to manage the daily workflow.
• Adhere to the confidentiality of all health information as required by Florida Statutes and HIPAA guidelines.
• Works with minimal supervision task to maintain the integrity of the clinical documentation.
• For telecommuting positions, able to work independently and troubleshoot hardware/software items.
• Meets productivity, timeliness, and quality standards and goals set by the department. Provides data from monitoring productivity and outcomes through maintenance of spreadsheets, database, and/or other documentation process.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

• Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development by completing training/recertification designed to maintain and increase job knowledge.
