Works independently from work orders or verbal instructions to paint buildings, structures, equipment or furniture using a brush, roller,
spray gun or other applicator
• Caulks, putties, or plasters holes and cracks.
• Prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding or other means as necessary and prime/seal surfaces prior to
finishing.
• Prioritizes urgency of job requests and notifies supervisor of any problems or delays with projects. Installs wallboard, base, ceramic
and floor tile, and wall coverings.
• Selects and mixes materials, matches colors and tints for spray, brush, or roller painting of walls including poly mix.
• Covers or otherwise protects furniture, flooring and other surfaces from paint spattering.
• Removes any spattered paint or overspray.
• Identifies, selects, maintains and uses appropriate tools.
• Safely erects staging and ladders.
• Places wet paint and other warning signs in accordance with the work area requirements.
• Maintains inventories of paints and supplies.
• Performs glass and glazing repairs as required. Knows rules, regulations and procedures to safely use and dispose of paints and
solvents.
• Cleans and cares for brushes, spray guns and other equipment.
• Maintains a safe, clean and orderly condition in work and shop area.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Education/Training
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience
Three (3) years’ experience as a painter.
